Spring is in the air - and it's hard to believe
that we've passed the first quarter of 2010
already.
As we reflect back on the first quarter
we're pleased at the progress that we've made and
we're excited with the opportunities that we're
facing this year.
In
this issue of the Illuminator we're highlighting
the  products and spotlighting the solar
powered technologies market as one industry that
is benefiting from Bivar's product
lines.
We recently launched a new panel mount LED
assembly and have included more information
on this exciting new product line and we hope

LED Indication from Bivar |
LEDs
continue to evolve and impact us in many positive
ways thanks to key technological advancements.
These LED advancements are providing designers
with frequent improvements in brightness, energy
efficiency, and various package types that make
them readily accessible for a growing range of
traditional and innovative applications. Keeping
up with technological advancements and the varying
solutions can be a challenging and time consuming
task.
One application area that is greatly
benefitting from LED advancement is the machine to
human interface commonly known as LED
indication.
LEDs
are traditionally used in large manufacturing and
industrial machinery to communicate 'on' and 'off'
status.
But manufacturers are building in more
options for communication - 'standby,' 'system
running' and a variety of system status messages
are now available, each requiring a different
color.
One example is Bivar's new bi-color panel
mount assembly (see New Product below) which gives
engineers the option to design multi-signal
displays and offer distinctive color combinations
that reflect the uniqueness of their
products.
LED indication product lines include
LED mounts, LEDs, light pipes and LED
assemblies.
Our products facilitate machine to human
communication. Whether
it's a custom solution or an off-the-shelf
standard our product enable design engineers to
make moving light from point-to-point practical,
easy, efficient and affordable.

New Product - Panel Mount
Assembly |

Bivar
recently announced its PM5-3 Series, a 3 lead,
bi-color panel mount LED
assembly.
The first in a line of bi-color LED
assemblies, the new PM5-3 extends Bivar's existing
panel mount assembly product line, and features
input driven color adjustment capabilities to
address the growing demand for enhanced LED
indication in a wide variety of commercial and
industrial machinery.
Part
of the product lines, the PM5-3 Series can be
used in a variety of products that range from
rugged computers, power supplies and data storage
devices to large manufacturing machinery and even
gas pumps.
In addition to a multi-color status
indicator, the new PM5-3 Series also offers
multiple configuration choices that include
stripped wires and a 0.100" pitch 3-pin
connector.
The new series is available in 0.16"
protrusion and recessed versions, giving engineers
design options for how the LED will appear in an
end-product application. The new
series is available with unlimited wire lengths
(even greater than 48" if necessary), is vibration
resistant and easy to install.

will be on-hand at EDS 2010 next month in Las
Vegas from May 11-13. We'll be
